MESSAGE OF THE PRESIDENT

My dear Patrons, Friends of PIPHRO, Colleagues Brother & Sisters,

Assalam o Alaikum,

This year Pakistan received unprecedented torrential rains resulting in divesting floods. According to National and United Nations report 20% of country is submerged under water destroying over 1.5 million acres of agricultural land and crops. This is the biggest disaster in the history of Nation, bigger than the worst earthquake which hit Pakistan in the Holy month of Ramadan in 2005. The disaster has lead to displacement of over 20 million people who are rendered homeless to have become internally displaced persons (IDPs). Of these IDPs over 7 million are afflicted in 12 districts of Sindh.

 

In this difficult hour of human tragedy, in the holy month of Ramadan, PIPHRO has taken up challenge to provide rescue and relief work to very large number of people marooned in flood effected districts Sindh and Baluchistan.

 

For this monumental task HANDS has mobilized 23 volunteer members of highly trained, dedicated profession staff and 02 Vehicles. PIPHRO has been instrumental in rescuing over 1370 people from flood affected areas.

PIPHRO has established over 09 camps in 4 districts of Sindh, afflicted with floods.

 

PIPHRO distributed Low cost Shelters, Food Items, Milk, Safe drinking water, Non Food Items, fodder for live stock, vaccination for prevention of diseases, Medicines, Medical Equipment, Pit Latrine, Hygiene Kit, and Honorarium for doctors lady health workers and School teacher etc.

 

Dear brothers and sister,

You will agree that to host 1370 IDPs and to meet their day to day needs is a colossal task and is not possible without networking with likeminded people like you and many national and international civil society organizations.

 

In this context, I would like to put on record my appreciation of patrons and friends of PIPHRO, individual philanthropists, National and International NGOs and Humanitarian organizations for their unflinching, moral, material, financial support and encouragements

Dear brothers and sisters,

These devastating floods are like “Slow Tsunami” and its ravages are going to last for a long time, several months. Please conserve (reserve) your emotions and continue to support suffering IDPs. When the floods start receding, we will continue to need your support for rehabilitation of these IDPs.

 

In conclusion on behalf of PIPHRO dedicated team, I would like to express my profound gratitude to all of you, for your invaluable moral, material and financial contribution to HANDS for relieving the grief and pain of flood effected IDPs. May Allah reward you all and your families for your generosity and give you more opportunities to serve humanity. Ameen
