According to the latest reports 183 people have been killed, injured 887, 1,276,225 peoples displaced, 53,690 houses destroyed & 4,780 Cattle perished in flash floods which are triggered by heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan. According to the authorities the situation may worsen. Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jamu & Kashmir have been severely affected by torrential rains and flash floods. In addition to claiming lives, the flash floods have destroyed properties and severely disrupted the communication, water and electricity supplies in affected areas. PIPHRO Mission: To support, facilitate & strengthen community organizations and mobilize under a common platform for the benefit of poor and disadvantaged sections of society for innovating social solutions & carry out sustainable development through a participatory approach.

PIPHRO believes in institutional building at grass roots level to support in bringing social change in the society. Hence a common platform that is created and owned by the poor is a pre-requisite through which the poor can make themselves count in the development process. Latest News

To highlight the importance of human rights at the district level, PIPHRO organized an Advocacy Seminar on Human Rights on August 20, 2013 at PIPHRO Office.
Training on disaster risk reduction was organized by PIPHRO for officials of the local government agencies in 4 Union Councils of District Badin. 27 participants from these UCs, Municipal Administration, Taluka Officer (Infrastructure) and others participated.
PIPHRO launched an emergency relief operation in flood affected districts in Sindh. Medical care, food and shelter ration and safe drinking water is provided to affected population.
PIPHRO with the Collaboration of The Asia Foundation (Books for Asia) Program donated 650 books in 7 Schools.
PIPHRO restored safe drinking water by installing 23 Hand Pumps, improved sanitation and hygiene by conducting health & hygiene sessions in Union Council Kadhan, Taluka Badin after monsoon rain of 2013.
